Church success and failure

Here is a quote from Tom Nelson from a blog post by Mike Breen

If we as a church succeed in every area, but fail to make disciples who can spiritually multiply, then ultimately we have failed. Yet if we fail in every other area, but succeed in spiritual multiplication, then ultimately we have succeeded.

When I think about our church, we may be small and not very 'successful' but we are learning how to do discipleship better, we are beginning to see the first signs of multiplication, and we are being more intentional about using our valuable time to these ends.

  • People are hearing from God, identifying his activity in their lives and responding
  • People are identifying their 'People of Peace'
  • We are beginning to learn how to gather in peoples homes in ways that are conducive to mission.
